The Miss Via Italia Pageant is back for the 2014 Italian Carrousel of Nations Festival on Saturday, June 21 starting at 9 p.m. on Erie Street. This year, the pageant is welcoming 10 women of Italian descent, aged 16-25, to the main stage across from St. Angela Merici Church.
The pageant, sponsored by FIAT, will be giving away hundreds
of dollars’ worth of prizes to the women, including a $500 cash prize for the
winner, $200 for the runner up and swag bags for all the girls who compete.
FIAT will be providing the girls transportation to the pageant, so they will be
arriving in style.
I am pleased to be judging the contest along with CTV's Jim Crichton, Craig Pearson and Anna Cabrera from the Windsor Star and Adelina Sisti-DeBlasis (The first Miss Via Italia winner from 1988 or 1989).
This
year, the people of Windsor are encouraged to vote for their favourite
contestant on Facebook for a new award called The People’s Choice.Hope to see everyone out at the Carrousel villages this weekend!
