Luau for Lalo: June 9, 2012 at On The Beach

Studio Kelani has started a fundraising campaign for its office manager Laloifi (the owner's mother) who is currently undergoing cancer treatment. Without OHIP it is believed her treatment could cost up to $40,000. Every penny counts!

On Saturday June 9, 2012 at 5 pm... the  'Luau for Lalo' (A.K.A. warrior princess) fundraiser takes place at the scenic and tropical 'On the Beach Volleyball' & and 'On the Beach Bar & Grill' (http://www.onthegreenindoorgolf.com/onthebeach/index.html).

Tickets are $20 which include pig roast, exciting live entertainment & door prizes. There will also be running a volleyball tournament (tournament entry fee: $15 per person; $60 per team/ corporate sponsorship encouraged). 100% of the proceeds go to Laloifi's treatment.

Women’s Economic Forum invites the public to attend on May 22, 2012

The Women’s Economic Forum of Windsor invites the general public to attend their monthly business dinner meeting on May 22, 2012 to hear Donna Messer speak on “The Power of One – Being a Leader and Taking that First Step”.

Donna Messer is the “Queen of Networking”, she’s an author, speaker and coach, an inspiring and passionate motivator, that has addressed thousands of people on three continents. Donna a former broadcast journalist, and is the author of more than 4,000 articles published around the world. Her book Effective Networking Strategies is a Canadian best seller. She hosts both radio and television programs, interviewing Canadians with a story to tell. Donna is social media savvy, and knows the importance of international visibility. She serves on the Executive Board for Women in Food Industry Management, is an active Rotarian and is on the board for The United Way of Oakville. 

The Women’s Economic Forum is a meeting for businesswomen, and provides networking with the opportunity to increase business, skills, and relationships with other professional women. The event will be held at the Other Place Catering and Reception Centre located at 1395 Walker Road, Windsor Ontario.

You are welcome to come and bring a friend. You will see first hand how WEF works to support each other and you will have an opportunity to promote your own business, introduce your service or organization by expanding your network with supporting members. This is an exciting meeting you will not want to miss!

 The cost is $25 for WEF members, $35 for guests. Registration and networking begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m., and the speaker at 7:30 p.m.

DeStress is the major annual fundraiser which supports The Distress Centre of Windsor-Essex County, a local organization which provides crisis intervention, suicide prevention, emotional support, and community referrals to anyone who calls the Distress Line.  The service is available from 12 noon to 12 midnight, 365 days a year, and is available for anyone who needs support and calls the Distress Line at 519-256-5000.  The Distress Line is answered by highly trained, dedicated, and caring Phone Volunteers who provide free, confidential, and anonymous emotional support to callers.  The Distress Centre, a registered Canadian Charity, is funded primarily by the United Way of Windsor-Essex and depends on fundraisers such as DeStress to help support volunteer education and community outreach efforts.
