The WEAs are coming. Windsor
Endowment for the Arts is looking for creative individuals and organizations to
participate in its awards and grants program – known as The WEAs. With four
awards of merit and nine monetary grants totaling $18,000 to be presented this
spring, the process begins Monday January 27, 2014 and closes on Friday March
7, 2014. Forms, instructions, a list of previous recipients, and other relevant
information can be found on WEA’s website at www.wea-arts.com.
Individual grants of $2,000
will be disbursed to winning grant applicants from eight separate categories
including community, literary, performing and visual arts. In addition, the
Elizabeth Havelock Grant, established to honour a mid-career artist, will be
awarded 2,000. Four awards of merit will be presented honouring nominated
leaders in visual, literary, performing and community arts.

- Local writer: Vanessa Shields
- John Morris Russell, former Musical Director of the Windsor Symphony Orchestra
- Lenora Langs, internationally recognized poet

- Nancy Johns Gallery & Framing

May 8, 2014.
