Elmo, Super Grover & Friends Arrive In Windsor!

Take a time out from business and bring the kids or grandkids out to this fantastic event..
Calling all super heroes! Super Grover needs your help – and it’s Elmo and the Fabulous Five to the rescue when this fantastic musical production zooms into Windsor. Join Elmo, Zoe, Abby Cadabby, Telly Monster and Zoe’s pet rock Rocco for Sesame Street Live “Elmo’s Super Heroes” at WFCU Centre from Tuesday, April 17 through Wednesday, April 18. Tickets for all three performances are now on sale!

When Super Grover loses his "superness," Sesame Street needs a hero! Never fear, Elmo and his team of super heroes are here. Teaching lessons of healthy habits through song and dance, Elmo, Abby Cadabby and your favorite Sesame Street friends will explore exercise, nutrition, sleep/energy and hygiene – all in a quest to put the “super” back in Super Grover. It’s Elmo’s Super Heroes to the rescue!

Sesame Street Live “Elmo’s Super Heroes” features an array of popular (and healthy!) songs, many of them renditions of tunes that parents will remember and kids will love: “Old MacDonald,” “Splish Splash,” “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” and “Sunny Days.”  Like television’s Sesame Street, each Sesame Street Live production features timeless lessons for all ages.  Through the dazzle of this full-blown Broadway-quality show, the production will teach children lessons in healthy habits that they can use long after the show ends.  Adults will appreciate the universal appeal of Sesame Street Live, the high-tech stagecraft and cleverly written scripts.

Earth Hour Eve -- March 31, 2012

Earth Hour Eve at the John Park Homestead

Saturday, March 31st, everyone around the world will be asked to turn off non-essential lights and electric appliances from 8:30 to 9:30 pm, local time.  You can spend Earth Hour sitting around in the dark OR you can come to the John R. Park Homestead's Earth Hour Eve program the day before and get inspired for interesting ways to experience life without electricity.

Visitors will learn the history of lighting at the electricity-free 1850’s farm.  Costumed guides will share some old fashioned tips for energy conservation, as guests participate in electricity-free activities that were popular in pioneer times.

“There won’t be a dull moment in this after dark adventure,” promises Homestead Curator, Janet Cobban. “We'll have the electric lights on in the gift shop and washrooms when you first arrive, then the switch is flipped and all activities will be conducted by candle lantern.  Play old fashioned games, make taffy on snow, do some star gazing, and get inspired for your own Earth Hour celebrations.”

Earth Hour Eve is held Friday March 30, at 7:30pm, and the cost is $15 per person. Pre-registration is required for this after-dark event; register in advance in person, or online at: www.onlineregistrations.ca/jrph.

The Homestead is located at: 915 County Road 50 East, on the lake between Kingsville and Colchester. For more information, phone: 519-738-2029 or email: jrph@erca.org. All event details are also listed on ERCA’s website: www.erca.org.
