Your Start-up Business Could Win $25,000!!!
Are YOU eligible?
• Appicant must be willing and ready to work with the Centre for Enterprise and Law throughout the Business Plan Competition
• Company must be within one year of formation with less than $25,000 in investment to-date
• The applicant must demonstrate that this company will have economic impact in Ontario along with high impact on the development of a young entrepreneur
• Applicant must be a University of Windsor/St Clair College student or recent graduate

What do YOU need to do?
Round 1 – Open to all eligible candidates (see above)
1. Attend the Business Plan Workshop, hosted by the CEL (click for more information)
• Learn how to write a proper business plan, up to competition guidelines
• Discover more funding opportunities for start-up businesses within Windsor-Essex County
2. Submit first draft of your business plan to Dr. Francine Schlosser (fschloss@uwindsor.ca) and to Professor Myra Tawfik (mjt@uwindsor.ca)

Round 2 – One candidate is chosen from all applicants
3. If you are selected for this round, you will work with key players to revamp your business plan to its fullest potential
4. We will submit your business plan to the Business Plan Competition

Round 3 – The competition
5. The candidate will present his/her business plan at the Discovery 2012 Business Plan Competition
6. Up to 4 winners will be chosen for a grand prize of $25,000 each

Important Dates

Prior to March 15th, 2012: Prepare your business plan
• Including market research on product, back-up information, etc…
March 15th, 2012: Business Plan Workshop
March 20th, 2012: Business Plan submission date to Dr. Schlosser & Professor Tawfik
March 26th, 2012: Business Plan submission date to the Ontario Centres of Excellence
May 10th, 2012: Presentation submission date to the Ontario Centres of Excellence
May 14th-15th, 2012: Discover 2012 Business Plan Competition at the Toronto Convention Centre
