This year, join in on all the fun, directly on Sandwich Street and along Russell Street for a weekend of entertainment, and historical depictions for the entire family, showcased in Historic Olde Sandwich Towne, where our history all began.
Friday
evening it all begins with Historical Story Tellers, Buskers, Special Menus and
more. The Barley Reavers will light up the main stage, while Big Screen Canada
Showing of “The Lorax” will light up the night
along the waterfront.
Saturday
you won’t want to miss the Freedom of the City Exercise presided over by his
worship Mayor Francis, followed by the formal dedication of the Olde Sandwich
Towne Peace Garden.
Following
this take a ride on the Horse and Carriage Rides, enjoy a guided house tour,
the Classic Car Show, Canadian National Trappers Alliance Exhibit, Historical
commemorative exhibits, featuring Provincial Marine, 4 H Voyageurs, 1812
Cricket Demonstrations, Children’s Participatory 1812 Parade at 1:30 p.m.,
Essex Kent Scottish re-enactment, dancers, and more. The evening is a burst of
energy with Fireworks at Dusk and Last Minute and Crued on Stage.
Sunday
it all gets started at noon, with an added special presentation by the White
Pines Drummers and Dancers at 3:30 p.m. on the Main Stage. Bring your appetite and sample food from area restaurants with $5 to $8 Festival Menus, a Pancake Breakfast, and of course the Bar O Lympics where you can cheer on your favourite server.
