Hee-Haw, It's Rodeo Time: August 18 & 19, 2012!

HARROW ROCK ‘N HORSE FEST RIDES AGAIN!

The first ever Ram Rodeo North American Showdown is to be featured at the 2012 Rock ‘N Horse Fest this August 18th and 19th at Cidermill Farms in Harrow, ON.  Top Canadian Cowboys square off against top U.S. Cowboys in a battle of national pride in what promises to be the most exciting rodeo of the Ontario Circuit and a draw for spectators on both sides of the border.
The Rock ‘N Horse Fest was a great success in its inaugural year attracting approximately 250 horses and over 7,000 spectators to Harrow.  “We expect this year’s festival to be bigger and better”, says Ted Boomer, festival organizer.   “The town has embraced the festival wholeheartedly and is enthusiastic to make 2012 even more exciting.

New for 2012 is the Ram Equestrian Southern Ontario Derby-Cross Finals which combine the skill and power of stadium jumping with the speed and bravery of the cross country course.  Friday evening’s welcome bash features Jody Raffoul on the Blackburn Soundstage,  Saturday will see the return of the Hunter/Jumper Team Challenge for Breast Cancer  as well as the Ram Rodeo North American Showdown followed by music by British Beat 66 and the Hit Men. The festival’s “Little Folk’s Field” will feature activities for children such as pony rides and games.  A portion of admission sales for the festival will support The Children’s Wish Foundation.

Sunday, August 19th is officially declared “Harrow Horse Day”.  The town will open to horses and return to the days of true horse-power, celebrating equine culture with a Cowboy Breakfast at Shooter’s and the K of C Hall, followed by the Horses for Hospice Parade, open to all riders, drivers, stick horses, and hobby horses.  The Horses for Hospice is the kick off to the Hospice Face to Face fundraising campaign.  Participants will seek pledges for the cause.  One hundred percent of the parade proceeds will go to Hospice.  Horses for Hospice will be a totally unique to Harrow.  Participants of all disciplines will parade through town and out to Cidermill Farms, in time to take in the final Harrow RAM Rodeo.   A full festival schedule and ticket information is available at www.rocknhorsefest.com
