 The DeStress 2012 Event Committee is excited to announce that tickets are now available for the 5th Annual DeStress Event in support of The Distress Centre of Windsor-Essex County.  “Thanks to the support of sponsors like Biz X Magazine, Mix 96.7, Corbett Productions, Coffee & Cream and The Ciociaro Club of Windsor, for only $50, ladies will receive a Martini, Mini-Manicure, Full Pasta Dinner, Event Gift Bag, Door Prize Ticket, and much, much more,”says Rukshini Ponniah, Executive Director of The Distress Centre. 

The “MORE” includes relaxing Massages and various Spa Services which attendees can purchase for only $5-$10, entertainment and delectable desserts of course, to name a few.  Ponniah adds, “Women deserve to take a night off, to relax, rejuvenate, get pampered, and have fun with their friends.  Also, falling the day after Mother’s Day, DeStress is not only the ULTIMATE Ladies’ Night Out, it is also the PERFECT Mother’s Day Gift for the amazing moms and women out there who claim they have everything!”

DeStress is the major annual fundraiser which supports The Distress Centre of Windsor-Essex County, a local organization which provides crisis intervention, suicide prevention, emotional support, and community referrals to anyone who calls the Distress Line.  The service is available from 12 noon to 12 midnight, 365 days a year, and is available for anyone who needs support and calls the Distress Line at 519-256-5000.  The Distress Line is answered by highly trained, dedicated, and caring Phone Volunteers who provide free, confidential, and anonymous emotional support to callers.  The Distress Centre, a registered Canadian Charity, is funded primarily by the United Way of Windsor-Essex and depends on fundraisers such as DeStress to help support volunteer education and community outreach efforts.

About the Distress Centre of Windsor-Essex County: The Distress Centre of Windsor-Essex County, a registered charity, is funded primarily by The United Way of Windsor-Essex.  It exists to provide emergency crisis intervention, suicide prevention, emotional support and referrals to community resources, by telephone, to people in Windsor and the surrounding area.  Currently, 75 highly trained and extremely dedicated Phone Volunteers help provide this valued service between the hours of 12 pm and 12 am, 365 days a year.  Approximately 4,000 callers use and appreciate this service on an annual basis.
